"Let me just start off by admitting that I very rarely write reviews. In this case, I HAD to write a review for Karen Geaghan Photography. My wife and I got married recently and we had an extremely positive experience with Karen. Let’s rewind a few years back. Growing up, Karen was one of my childhood best friend’s mothers, and with that said, I have known her roughly 15 years. In this time, I can remember going to play at her house, and I kid you not, she was ALWAYS working on something photography related. Be it editing photos, on the phone with clients and potential clients, looking up new places to capture that next perfect shot; Karen has shown to be truly dedicated to her work, and has a great showcase to prove it. When I decided to take the leap into marriage with the perfect woman, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted the best photographer. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words, and given the hectic atmosphere of a wedding, let me offer a piece of advice: it goes by too fast to possibly remember it all. This is where Karen comes in. She and her assistant, Danielle, gave to my wife and I the opportunity to relive the whole night; over and over again. She captured the love that I share with my wife, the moments we were not there to see, and the moments that we will hold dear to us as a lifelong memory. Karen has an eye for beauty. There is no better way to put it. She exemplifies thorough knowledge of lighting, angles, positioning, and timing in all of the photos we received. We are extremely grateful to have had Karen in our lives. Not only does she have “the eye” for photography- she is also very professional. From day one, we felt as if she had a great handle on our wedding. And when I say this, I mean that she does what is necessary to understand the relationship, understand circumstances, and understand what WE wanted done- it was, after all, our wedding. She had us first start with an engagement session- this way, she got to learn our mannerisms with each other, was able to see how my wife and I took pictures together, and most of all, developed an eye for “us”. She will be the first to tell you that the primary reason for the pre-wedding engagement session is so she can learn, and possibly adapt, to her job when the big day finally comes. Not only was she able to learn “us” very quickly, but you also get to have some nice, non-suit-and-tie pictures as well!With the pre-wedding engagement pictures done, next up comes the big day. Karen was extremely transparent leading up to the wedding. She is very quick to respond to any inquiries via email, always returned our phone calls (if she happened to not see it while we were calling), and we were never left in the position where we were freaking out about our photographer. In fact, Karen made it so our wedding photographer was the LEAST of our worries. With a consultation regarding the specific photos you require to be taken on the big day, she notates them, and makes it happen. On our actual wedding day, of course, Karen was respectfully early. She and her assistant were very diligent in taking all of the photos my wife and I had our hearts set on. There is no better way to say it than: “Karen gets it done”. She utilized the time we had together to capture all of the shots we HAD to have, all of the shots we wanted, and many, many more shots as well. My hat is off to you, Karen, on a job extremely well done. With the exemplary service we received from Karen Geaghan Photography; you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be reaching out to her for our next session of photos. Thank you so much Karen! “Our family hired Karen to be the photographer at two of our sons’ weddings. We specifically asked Karen to not be an in your face” type of photographer who was constantly asked people to pose for pictures while the reception was happening. Karen not only managed to do this, but the photos she took ended up being creative and fun and really captured the feeling of these special days. We, of course, did have some posed photographs before the reception that turned out beautiful as well. Our sons and their wives have some beautiful photo books full of wonderful memories.

One of our sons now has a young son and asked Karen to photograph him. One of the photographs in particular is incredible — it captures our son cradling his naked infant son on his bare chest. She took engagement photos that were part of the package in locations that had meaning for our daughters which meant she had to travel to get to the locations.
